Ascension consists of six thirty minute videos, featuring Day Magee and Emily Conlan, that were projection mapped onto the ceiling of the church gallery. 

Through performance to camera, projection mapping and live musical performance we aimed to reference Renaissance frescos such as Michelangelo's Sistine chapel while utilizing contemporary technology and performance. I was especially influenced by Michelangelo's Fall of Man, which depicts the transition of the first man and woman from a state of innocent obedience to god to a state of guilty disobedience. In contrast, Ascension depicts sexuality of man and woman without the feeling of guilt. The live opera Carmen was performed at the opening.
